About Me

Dear reader, welcome to my blog!  I’m CeCe and I write about the human experience on www.writinginsoysauce.com.

My grandma named me after Princess Sissi of Austria, a strong-willed girl determined to carve out her destiny in a world dominated by men and etiquette. I have some mighty shoes to fill.

I left an unfulfilling advertising job in NYC to look for a job I love. Now I teach English all over the world. 9 months in Quito, Ecuador taught me I can survive anything. Join me on my quest to become a better global citizen.

Onward to Seoul, South Korea!

Beijing born. Boston raised. NYC made. Global upgrades.

Mortality is a writer’s biggest deadline. Down the rabbit hole, we go!

Thanks to Jeff Jarvis, I was inspired to share a piece of my soul online.

We have forgotten how to be honest on social media and thus with ourselves. We do not live perfect, pristine lives. Pain, fear and struggle are unifying elements and I would like to share mine in order to create an honest, authentic connection with you.

My tiger parents had trouble accepting a daughter who hated math, but loved English.

Abuse was rampant in my household. At 29, I made the smartest decision of my life and went to therapy in Ecuador. I learned about co-dependence, a condition that develops when you grow up with any kind of abuse whether it’s physical, emotional, substance, or sexual.

Intelligence is knowing what you don’t know. Strength is knowing when to ask for help.

I love hearing from you, dear reader. Questions, comments, suggestions welcome! Connect with me on Facebook!  IMG_3139

  1. Hi Cece,

We have come across your blog https://writinginsoysauce.wordpress.com/ and strongly admire the content. Your writing abilities and ability to engage readers is remarkable and a very rare asset in this days and age oversaturated blogging community. We would love to have your content on your lifestyle displayed on our website MyTrendingStories.com in order to display your creative work to a large platform.

My Trending Stories is a new website who prides itself on one specific value: giving back the power to the writers through freedom of speech and expression. Several blogging websites support a specific political view, ideology or mindset. Over at My Trending Stories no content is restricted as long as it does not contribute to racism, discrimination or anything that violates an individual’s human rights. Through this, we aim to be one of the top 5 biggest blogging websites on the internet.

We strongly believe that your writing aligns with our core value, and would love to have your content displayed so that it can reach an even broader audience. As a contributor on MTS, your creative work will remain yours at all times and we even encourage that you promote your personal blog on the website. Feel free to even post work that was originally on your blog, the most important thing is that your message and story gets out to the world.

Furthermore, we place importance in seeing our writers grow. This is why we only allow a certain amount of writers on the website in order to provide mentorship and personal growth. We keep in contact with our writers through phone or email, whichever is more convenient. We will also be having our first annual convention in 2017 where writers will have the ability to network and learn tips from people in the industry. This includes media, journalism, editors, authors and publishers!

We also have several interesting features such as a video section, and will soon be expanding French and Spanish.

We would truly love to have you be a part of this team. If you are interested in this opportunity email us back at: manager@mytrendingstories.com

Looking forward to hearing from you soon,
    My Trending Stories Team
